I just wanna take a poll to see what everyone is planning, or wants to plan for New Years this year.

I know that personally, I don't have any ambition to something wild and crazy.

    What is everyone thinkinggg?????

I was juuuuuuuuuuuuust discussing this the other night!! I'll start with saying that...I seriously LOVE just being chill!!

Plus I got all of my mayhem based partying out in college -- so I'm pretty over the whole "buy a ticket" to some "event" in the city at a hotel or whatever -- especially anything that is "all-inclusive" because that means everyone around you gets in "buffet" mentality and basically just stands in line ALL night to get a drink, and then by the time they get their drink, they get BACK in line to drink it and hope they get to the front of the line by the time they finish it again. SOOOO... basically.... you're surrounded by line-dwellers!! And that's no fun!

But... I am down to DRINK and have fun with friends!!! I was thinking a dinner party, with an emphasis on the libations.

Is there anything LM oriented going on? Is anyone going anywhere cool?!

    :o)

Sooo yeahhh. Lol. Dinner, cocktails, sweat pants?!

Our place is so small to have a large group of people... i feel it gets smaller with every party!

My place is smaller than Lisa's! 769 sq ft. of "coziness" I like to call it :o)

My building has a clubhouse ditty with a TV and stuff that can be rented out for free or like $50 max. But now that I think about it, I don't think you can rent it out until midnight.

    :o(

OH! and BTW -- Sim, and whoever else saw Dirty Heads -- they're playing the NYE show @ the Catalyst, if anyone was interested, that might be fun (depending on who else plays with them, etc) and then see if the band is doing an after party (since my friend whose bf is in the band is coming down).

That is a possibility. I am not sure what my plans are yet though, either up here or down in san diego, I am not sure yet.

Well, I for one don't think it's too early to be planning. If you lag on planning it always ends up being the afternoon of New Year's Eve and we're sitting around wondering what to do.

I personally always love dancing and would love to incorporate that somehow. BUT I know not everyone is into that (especially my significant other..ahem...) so I can be flexible (THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!).

I would host something but my little place doesn't have a good flow to it for a party. Oh, I know...I could move my coffee table out of the way and we can dance in front of my couch!!!

i'm gonna agree with petra and christina. it's never too early to start planning :)

like petra, i'm also down to make the evening include dancing, but at the same time, i also really like lisa's idea of "Dinner, cocktails, sweat pants". i happen to have a very cozy set of fleece pants that i would wear everywhere if only it was appropriate

really, i don't care what happens so long as my evening is spent in good company! i'd offer my place for the festivities, but seeing as it's tiny (525 sq. ft!), that probably isn't gonna work...

I actually would host again except for the fact that last time my cat was so overwhelmed he tried to commit suicide. That and the fact that my dogs are drug addicted and I don't want them to get out of hand and embarrass the family again.

I'm working on it people.. we will find somewhere to celebrate!
