maybe mel can tell me if i'm being picky here, but dude, the woman i just talked to at a hotel (name withheld) was kind of retarded.
so my boss comes to town about once every 3 months. he stays at a particular hotel because it's walking distance to his house (the house is rented out but his car is there). so i called up this hotel to make a reservation. at 9:53am. the woman answers, after about 20 rings, and greets me with "hello. good afternoon. thank you for choosing (hotel name)". it's not even close to afternoon lady...i just woke up like 2 hours ago!
on top of that, the pace of her speech is incredibly slow, which is irritating, but i'll give her the benefit of the doubt. maybe she's new. but really, all i'm hoping to do here is have a 2 minute conversation with this woman in which i give her a check in date, a check out date, tell her my affiliation to get the discount, and get a confirmation number. this conversation shouldn't take 15 minutes!
so i tell her i would like to make a reservation. before i can even tell her what day, she starts telling me about the amenities of the hotel: a fitness center, complimentary breakfast, wine hours, etc. dude stfu lady, you don't need to sell me on the hotel - i already want to book it! and everything i said was repeated back to me. EVERYTHING.
"and what's your name?"
"carolynn"
"ok so, your name is carolynn"
"yes"
"ok and what is your check in day?"
"may 5"
"ok so you're checking in may 5"
LOL is this woman for real?!?
